TEMPLE GARDENS HAIR SALON Re-Opening guidelines for clients.
Prior to your appointment:
If you, or anyone in your household is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, including the loss of taste or smell within 14 days before your appointment, or you are unwell, we kindly ask you to contact us as soon as possible and re-arrange your appointment. If you arrive to your appointment and you are unwell, we will reschedule your appointment and we will ask you to leave.
Our cancellation policy remains in place for non-covid related cancellations and missed appointments. Failure to provide 48 hour notice of cancellation before your appointment will result in a 50% fee added to your next bill. Missed appointments may result in refusal of service or require full payment up front for future bookings.
All clients will be asked to wear a face mask during their appointment. We kindly ask clients to supply their own face masks where possible. Please wear a disposable mask or a mask you are not concerned about getting hair colour on, if you are having your hair coloured as we can’t guarantee we won’t get colour on them. If you cannot source a face mask before your appointment, we will have a small stock and we will be able to provide you with one. We are aware that the official guidance for our industry does not state that clients must wear a face mask, but this is our decision as a business regardless of the guidelines and ultimately we feel safer doing so and feel our clients will too.
With everyone’s best interest and safety in mind we are asking clients who have been overseas or have a person within their household that has been overseas to NOT come to the salon for any appointments for up to 2 weeks after your/their return. If you have an appointment which falls within 2 weeks of your return to the UK please contact us so we can reschedule you to another suitable date.
On your appointment day:
Please be on time to your appointment. Do not arrive to your appointment early as you will not be able to enter the salon until your stylist is ready for you. Do not arrive late as we will be unable to accommodate you. We have removed our waiting area and there will no longer be the space to wait.
Please bring as few personal items as you can. Do not bring shopping and extra bags with you. Please leave your coat in your car if the weather allows.
If you need to bring a coat, please bring a plastic bag with you to store your coat in whilst you are in salon. This will need to be kept with you. We cannot hang your coats up in the salon.
Whilst we urge you to bring minimal personal items, please be aware there will be no magazines or books to read at this time. Please bring your own reading material.
If the weather allows, please wait outside of the building until your stylist is ready and calls you in. Our building has a small communal entrance and multiple businesses, therefore waiting outside where possible is essential for adhering to social distancing inside the building.
If the weather does not allow you to queue outside, please wait in the entrance of the building and wait for your stylist to call you in. Please adhere to social distancing when inside the building.
Under no circumstances should you enter the salon without being called in first. We are not accepting walk in appointments, and if you need to speak to your stylist please call the salon instead.
You must wear your face mask at all times inside the building.
Please do not bring anyone with you to your appointment, including children. At this time, we will not be booking in children who cannot be in the salon unaccompanied. If you are an adult and need to be accompanied for health/support reasons please contact us before hand and inform us so that we can accommodate you both safely.
During your appointment:
All clients will have a contactless temperature check upon their arrival. If you are exhibiting a high temperature, your appointment will not be able to be carried out and you will kindly be asked to leave and we will reschedule your appointment over the phone.
If you have a coat, place it in the plastic bag you have brought with you and keep it with you at your designated station.
You will be asked to wash/sanitise your hands after removing your coat and before you put on your gown.
Please be aware that when the weather permits, we will have the doors to the garden open as much as possible. This is to ventilate the salon and to minimise the risk of spreading the virus. Please respect that this is essential to keeping our clients and ourselves safe. However, please make us aware if you are cold and it is uncomfortable for you.
If the weather permits, and you would like to sit outside whilst your colour develops, please ask and we will be happy to move you.
There will be a bottle of hand sanitiser at your designated work station. Please regularly use this during your appointment and especially if you have to move around the salon.
Please come to your appointment with clean, dry hair.
If you need to move around the salon during your appointment, please stick to the walkway which will be marked out using tape. Please do not wander aimlessly around the salon and if you need anything, please ask your stylist.
Toilet facilities will be available during your appointment. Please ensure you wash your hands and use hand sanitiser before returning to the salon.
We will not be taking cash payments at this time. Only card payments will be accepted at this time. This includes tips, however if you would like to tip your stylist you can do so by adding it to your bill.
Products will be available to buy at your appointment, however we will not have them on display to cut down on items that need to be sterilised regularly. Please ask your stylist if you would like to purchase any products and they will sterilise and prepare them for you.
When your appointment has ended, please do not make your way to reception. The reception desk will not be in use, and your stylist will take your payment at the work station. They will also make your next appointment there too.
When your payment has been taken, please remove the gown and leave it on the chair you have been seated in.
You will be asked to exit the salon through the sliding doors at back of the salon that lead into the garden and there is a path at the side of the building that will bring you back out onto Danes Terrace. This is to reduce traffic in the building’s entrance and to minimise the number of people you come into contact with, and is for your own safety.
You will be asked to take your empty water bottle and face mask away with you.
Please respect our choices and the changes we have had to make to ensure all of our safety. We will not tolerate aggression or unkindness towards our staff during this time and at any time, and if any of these regulations stated are broken or not met, we reserve the right to cancel your appointment and/or ask you to leave the premises.
What to expect from us:
Your stylist will wear a face mask and visor at all times. Fresh disposable PPE will be used for each client. Gloves and aprons will likely be changed half way through colour appointments.
Your stylist will also wash/sterilise their hands regularly throughout the day.
We have removed our waiting area to minimise the amount of people in salon.
There will only be one client per stylist at any time, and we will stagger shifts slightly to reduce contact between clients.
Work stations have always been and will be a safe distance apart.
Each stylist will now stay in the same work section and will not move around as before.
Stylists will socially distance from one another as much as possible.
Where possible, only one basin will be in use at any given time to adhere to social distancing. A Perspex screen has also been fitted for extra protection if this is not possible.
All plants and interior accessories have been moved to higher shelves to reduce the risk of infection from surfaces and to make cleaning more efficient.
A safely distanced walkway will be marked out using tape for you to travel through the salon safely.
All equipment will be thoroughly sterilised after each use.
All workstations will be thoroughly cleaned between each client.
All gowns and towels will be washed after each client.
The salon phone will be sterilised after each use.
Card machines will be sterilised after each use.
We have extra garden furniture to enable you to sit outside whilst your colour develops.
If any clients have any questions regarding the guidelines we have set out, please send a text message or message the salon on social media with your question and we will get back to you.
We will be doing everything we can to adapt to these changes as a business, but we urge you to please remember that there are people behind these guidelines who are anxious about the coming weeks and are not going back to the same business as before. Please be kind.
Thank you - we look forward to welcoming you back to Temple Gardens.
